The Start of a New Chapter

With baseball season underway the new Robert W. Plaster Athletic Complex is already looking toward 2018. Holding both baseball and softball as well as men’s and women’s soccer this facility will house six of the 17 athletic programs the university has to offer.

“This facility will serve as a foundation for Mount Mercy’s continued success both on the field and in the classroom. We are ushering in a new era for Mount Mercy athletics, one that will lead to great things for our student-athletes, our university and the wider community.” – Paul Gavin, Mount Mercy University Athletic Director.

This facility will also help the JumpStart initiative the University is putting forth. This program is to make additional community outreach effort, which will collaborate with local social service agencies and neighboring organizations to provide activities for youth in the area.

“The Robert W. Plaster Athletic Complex will undoubtedly have an impact on our students and athletes, but the community will also see significant benefits.” -Jack Dahm, Mount Mercy University head baseball coach

This project is set to be completed in August.
